Which Easy to Install Water Filtration System Should You Choose?

Considering getting a home water filter but worried you'll never find a truly easy to install water filtration system that actually works. If so, read on. While whole-house filtration systems do take some plumbing expertise to install, most small point-of-use systems are simple and quick to hook up. Here are three of the easiest water filtration systems to install.

Faucet-mounted filter

If you want a really easy to install water filtration system, this is it. You won't need any plumbing skills or even tools. Usually all you'll need to do is unscrew the aerator cap from your faucet and screw the filter into place. Faucet-mounted filters can be installed on both sink taps and shower heads.

Counter top

A counter top water filter will take you just a few minutes more to install than the faucet-mounted type. For instance, the Auquasana AQ-4000 counter top filter can be installed and ready to use in about five minutes.

Undersink/Below counter

While this type of unit is a little more complicated, it’s still not too difficult to install. To install an undersink water filter, you'll have to do some very basic plumbing, but it shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours to get done. As for tools, all you’ll need is a wretch, Teflon tape, and possibly a drill.

The fact is just about every manufacturer claims each of their filters is an easy to install water filtration system, but "easy" is relative. Before you buy a system, read through the installation guide to see exactly whether the installation will be easy for you or not.
